CAIRO - 14 July 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at Lusail Palace in Doha to offer his heartfelt condolences and profound sympathies on the passing of the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

 

President El-Sisi prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow His boundless mercy upon the deceased and to grant the brotherly people of Qatar strength and solace.

 

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that President El-Sisi reaffirmed the complete solidarity of Egypt's leadership and people with the State of Qatar during this time of mourning.

 

During the meeting, President El-Sisi paid tribute to the late Father Amir's rich legacy and historic contributions, highlighting his pivotal role in driving Qatar’s modern renaissance, progress, and prosperity. The President expressed his wishes for Qatar to enjoy continued security, stability, and development under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

 

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his deep gratitude to President El-Sisi for his visit and fraternal gestures. The Qatari Amir underscored the deeply rooted, historic ties binding the two nations and their peoples, expressing his keenness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand mutual partnerships in the period ahead.
