CAIRO – 13 July 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts warm, humid weather during the early morning hours on Monday, transitioning to hot and humid conditions across most of the country during the day.
The southern regions will experience very hot weather, while warm and humid conditions will persist nationwide through the night.
Meteorologists indicated that high humidity levels will make the weather feel significantly warmer, increasing the perceived temperature by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperatures in the shade are expected to be as follows:
Greater Cairo: High 35°C, Perceived 37°C
Nile Delta: High 34°C, Perceived 36°C
Northwest Coast: High 30°C, Perceived 34°C
Northeast Coast: High 31°C, Perceived 34°C
North Upper Egypt: High 37°C, Perceived 39°C
South Upper Egypt: High 41°C, Perceived 42°C
The authority noted a slight chance of low cloud formation over scattered areas of the North Coast, Nile Delta, Greater Cairo, and the Suez Canal cities, which may result in light, insignificant drizzle in some locations.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution as morning fog is expected to impact visibility between 4 AM and 8 AM on agricultural roads, highways, and routes near bodies of water. This fog will affect areas spanning northern Egypt down to Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, and may become dense at times.
Winds will be active across most of the country with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour, which will help moderate temperatures later in the evening. This wind activity will also affect major beaches, including Salloum, Marsa Matrouh, El-Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, and Port Said, leading to rougher sea conditions and wave heights reaching 1.5 to 2.25 meters.
