CAIRO – 10 July 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone call on Friday with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. The call comes as part of the ongoing communication and close coordination between the two nations.

During the call, the two ministers discussed recent regional escalations, emphasizing the critical importance of containing tensions and preventing the conflict from widening.

The ministers urged all parties to prioritize diplomacy and dialogue, calling for a return to the negotiating table to implement the recent Memorandum of Understanding signed between the United States and Iran. They noted that doing so would pave the way for a final agreement between the two sides, ultimately contributing to regional de-escalation, security, and stability.

Minister Abdelatty also reiterated his condemnation of recent attacks targeting Jordan and several Gulf states. He stressed the absolute need to respect the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of all Arab Gulf nations and their neighbors.
