CAIRO – 10 July 2026: The Arab League has strongly condemned the unauthorized landing of an Iranian plane at Sana'a International Airport, calling the move a blatant violation of Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst escalating regional tensions.
The official spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the Arab League stated that the landing, which occurred a few days ago, took place without prior coordination with the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
The spokesperson added that this unilateral action comes at a time when the region faces severe security challenges, escalating the risk of actions that infringe upon state sovereignty or disrupt regional stability. He emphasized that the incident constitutes a serious breach of international law, stressing the absolute necessity of respecting state borders and adhering to the international rules governing interstate relations.
The Arab League continues to follow developments related to the Yemeni crisis with concern and firmly rejects any practices that undermine Yemeni state institutions or compromise its territorial integrity.
Reiterating its firm stance in support of the sovereignty and independence of Arab nations, the League affirmed its full solidarity with the Republic of Yemen, its leadership, and its people. It also declared its backing for all measures taken by the Yemeni government to safeguard its national security, preserve its borders, and restore stability to the country.
