CAIRO – 9 July 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent launched the 231st "Zad El-Ezza... From Egypt to Gaza" humanitarian aid convoy, comprising a number of trucks heading to the Gaza Strip.
This comes as part of the Red Crescent’s role as the national mechanism for coordinating humanitarian assistance to the territory.
The convoy transported more than 2,320 tons of humanitarian aid, including food baskets, flour, medical supplies, relief materials, essential medicines, and petroleum products needed to operate hospitals and other vital facilities in the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a continuous presence at the border since the beginning of the crisis. The Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side has remained operational for humanitarian coordination, while the organization has continued to maintain a high level of readiness across its logistics centers.
Through the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers, the Egyptian Red Crescent has facilitated the delivery of over one million tons of humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip.
