CAIRO - 9 July 2026: The Arab Republic of Egypt strongly condemned Thursday the Iranian attacks that violated the airspace of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, constituting a violation of its sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region and endangers the safety of civilians.
Egypt affirmed its complete rejection of any actions that infringe upon the sovereignty of Arab states or undermine their security and stability.
It stressed the necessity of respecting international law and the principles of good neighborliness, and of halting all practices that could expand the scope of conflict in the region.
Egypt also reiterated its full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its support for all measures taken by Jordan to preserve its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Iranian missiles targeted U.S. bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan.
Jordan announced it intercepted Iranian missiles that entered its skies. Jordan also condemned condemned the renewed Iranian attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as a blatant violation of their sovereignty, a threat to their security, stability, and territorial integrity, a dangerous escalation, and a clear breach of international law and the UN Charter.
