EMA: Humidity level increases feeling of hot weather; Cairo records 35℃

CAIRO - 9 July 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced that the country is experiencing stable weather Thursday, with the continuation of hot summer weather and high humidity levels, which increase the perceived temperature.
 
The authority published in a Thursday post on its official Facebook page that some low clouds are appearing over areas in the north of the country, without affecting the weather.
 
It added that the expected maximum temperature in the shade in Greater Cairo is 35 degrees Celsius, while the perceived temperature reaches 37 degrees Celsius due to the high humidity.

The authority explained that warm and humid weather will prevail during the early morning hours, turning hot and humid during the day across most of the country, while it will be very hot in the south, with warm and humid conditions during the night.
 
The authority pointed out that high humidity levels increase the perceived temperature by values ​​ranging between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius, with the perceived temperature reaching:
 
37℃ in Greater Cairo
 
36℃ in Lower Egypt
 
33℃ on the northwestern coasts
 
35℃ on the northeastern coasts
 
38℃ in Upper Egypt
 
40℃ in southern Upper Egypt
