CAIRO - 8 July 2026: National carrier EgyptAir dispatched a dedicated charter flight to Atlanta, Georgia, to bring home the Egyptian national football team following their historic performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the airline announced.
Flight MS3009/10, operated using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, departed Cairo International Airport on Wednesday morning bound directly for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The return flight carrying the national squad is scheduled to touch down in Cairo on Friday, 10 July 2026.
The special mission carried the ceremonial banner "You Honored Us," celebrating the team's unprecedented advancement during the tournament.

In an official statement, EgyptAir congratulated the national team delegation and the Egyptian public on the historic athletic milestone, which marks a historic breakthrough in Egyptian football history.
The national carrier reaffirmed its long-term commitment to supporting Egyptian sports federations and clubs by providing specialized travel logistics and priority services during international competitions.
Egypt's only fourth participation in the World Cup ended in the round of 16 at the hands of Argentina after a 3 to 4 upset.
The match had been highly controversial as the French referee canceled a goal by Egypt and handed the Egyptian team several fouls.
The Egyptian team and fans say "an identical" Argentinian goal was not cancelled, and their perceived rough play went unpunished.
