CAIRO - 7 July 2026: The 229th humanitarian aid convoy, titled "Zad al-Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza," departed on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from the Rafah crossing to the Karam Abu Salem crossing, in preparation for delivering aid into the Gaza Strip.
A source said the convoy consists of trucks carrying large quantities of humanitarian relief and food assistance, including food supplies, food baskets, flour, fresh bread, legumes, canned goods, medicines, personal hygiene items, tents, clothing, and petroleum products.
The source added that the trucks are subject to inspection by Israeli authorities before being allowed entry into the Gaza Strip.
A source at the Egyptian Red Crescent confirmed that the shipment includes substantial quantities of food and humanitarian aid, including food items, baskets, flour, fresh bread, legumes, canned goods, medicines, hygiene supplies, tents, clothing, and petroleum products.
The Egyptian Red Crescent said that the volume of humanitarian aid delivered to the Gaza Strip since the outbreak of the war has reached around 57,000 trucks, carrying more than one million tons of diverse humanitarian and relief supplies.
The organization added that the aid shipments also included ambulances and fuel trucks, delivered through the efforts of 65,000 volunteers from the Egyptian Red Crescent.
