CAIRO - 7 July 2026: Main streets and squares across various Egyptian governorates are witnessing a heavy security and traffic presence on Tuesday to ensure the safety of citizens who will be gathering to watch the highly anticipated match between Egypt and Argentina in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

Security and law enforcement personnel intensified their presence around cafes, clubs, and other areas where fans usually gather to watch the match.

This was done to ensure a festive atmosphere, maintain public order, and intervene immediately to prevent any violations of the law, thus guaranteeing the safety of the fans.

In the same vein, the General Directorate of Traffic, in coordination with the traffic departments in the governorates, implemented a comprehensive deployment plan on the main roads and streets surrounding areas where citizens were gathering.

Traffic officers were deployed to regulate traffic flow, prevent congestion and illegal parking, and ensure smooth traffic movement before, during, and after the match.

These strict field measures come to enhance citizens’ sense of security, enabling them to support the national team in this historic event, while maintaining traffic discipline on the streets, and preventing any bottlenecks that may affect the movement of ordinary citizens.
