CAIRO – 5 July 2026: The Ministry of Social Solidarity will officially inaugurate the Diarna Handicrafts and Heritage Exhibition at Marina 4 on Egypt's North Coast on Thursday, July 9.
Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, received a report from Rami Abbas, the Ministry's Advisor for Public Relations, Protocol, and the Organization of Conferences and Exhibitions, on the exhibition's trial operation ahead of its official opening.
Held under the slogan "Egypt Speaks Through Its Crafts," the exhibition has already attracted large numbers of visitors during its soft opening. A range of accompanying activities is also being organized, including public screenings of Egypt's national team matches in the FIFA World Cup and entertainment events aimed at creating a festive atmosphere for visitors.
To facilitate purchases, organizers have provided ATMs as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the exhibition for both exhibitors and visitors.
This year's edition brings together more than 450 exhibitors and is designed to support artisans and productive families by promoting sustainable economic empowerment. The exhibition aims to help integrate craftspeople into competitive markets, strengthen their financial independence, and improve opportunities for income generation.
Exhibitors will showcase a wide variety of Egyptian handmade products that reflect the country's rich cultural heritage, including carpets and kilims, stained and colored glass, wickerwork, upholstered furnishings, cotton garments, accessories, silver jewelry, wooden and copper crafts, leather goods, perfumes, and other environmentally friendly traditional products.
The exhibition also features products made by productive families, production cooperatives, beneficiaries of the Mastoura microfinance program funded by Nasser Social Bank, and the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund.
