President El-Sisi officially announces inauguration of State Strategic Command Headquarters

CAIRO - 4 July 2026: Egyptian President El-Sisi officially announced Saturday the inauguration of the State Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Capital. 

During the ceremony that is held Saturday, President Sisi hands over the Armed Forces flag to the commander of the honor guard to be raised on the State Strategic Command Headquarters, and signed a document marking the opening. 

President El- Sisi gave a brief speech after the signing saying that the State Strategic Command Headquarters will be a monument for the great people of Egypt, that embodies Egypt's role as a force for peace and stability, confronting challenges and achieving aspirations through the unity of its people and its valiant armed forces.

President El-Sisi continued saying that the State Strategic Command Headquarters enhances combat capabilities and constant readiness to face challenges effectively and efficiently, in a manner that achieves the countries' objectives and secures its resources.

Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher also gave a speech at the ceremony, saying: "a glorious day has arrived, ushering in a new era of wisdom and strength."

"Today, we proudly witness the inauguration of the State Strategic Command Headquarters, which is an integral part of the state's command structure," Minister Zaher added. "What we are witnessing today is the result of a wise policy of development and a courageous step towards transition."

Defense Minister Zaher then presented a commemorative gift to President Sisi. 

Military Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Nayer Nagy participated in the inauguration ceremony of the State Strategic Command Headquarters Saturday.

The live broadcast of the inauguration showed an aerial footage of the State Strategic Command Headquarters that spans approximately 22,000 feddans (around 92 square kilometers) and is divided into 13 strategic and logistical zones. It is considered one of the largest defense and administrative complexes in the region.
