Egyptian, Greek FMs discuss regional developments over phone call

CAIRO – 3 July 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone conversation with his Greek counterpart, Giorgos Gerapetritis, as part of ongoing communication and coordination between the two friendly countries to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional developments.

The two ministers affirmed the growing momentum in Egyptian-Greek relations across various fields, reflecting the strategic partnership between the two countries.

They also expressed their commitment to building on the outcomes of high-level visits and ongoing consultations to enhance political and economic cooperation in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries and their peoples.

The ministers exchanged views on a number of regional issues, particularly the course of the US-Iran negotiations, as well as developments in Libya and the Gaza Strip.

They stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation on these issues to support efforts to de-escalate tensions, promote regional security and stability, and safeguard the common interests of both countries.
