CAIRO – 3 July 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone conversation with Mosaad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the US President for Arab and African Affairs.
The two officials discussed the latest developments in Libya, with Abdelatty reaffirming Egypt’s unwavering support for the country’s unity and stability.
He stressed the importance of unifying Libya’s national institutions and reaching a comprehensive political settlement through a Libyan-led process, paving the way for simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.
During the call, Abdelatty listened to the ideas and proposals presented by Boulos on ways to resolve the situation in Libya through a Libyan-led solution. The discussion came within the framework of ongoing US efforts, led by Boulos, to bridge differences among the Libyan parties.
Abdelatty also commended all relevant UN, international, and regional efforts—including those of the United States—to help achieve lasting unity and stability in Libya and build a better future for all Libyans.
