CAIRO – 2 July 2026: The Ministry of Health and Population announced that the Presidential Initiative for the Early Detection of Cancerous Tumors (lung, prostate, colon, and cervical cancers) has provided free screening services to 19.132 million citizens aged 18 and older since its launch in June 2023 as part of the "100 Million Healthy Lives" initiative.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry's official spokesperson, said the initiative begins with participants completing an electronic questionnaire to identify risk factors and symptoms. Suspected cases are then referred for advanced diagnostic tests and immediate treatment.

He urged citizens to visit their nearest health unit or access the Ministry of Health's initiatives portal to complete the initial questionnaire. He added that individuals with negative results are advised to undergo regular follow-up screenings, while those with positive results are referred to multidisciplinary medical committees for appropriate treatment.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Aziz, executive director of the Presidential Initiative for the Early Detection and Treatment of Cancer, said the initiative has successfully identified a large number of cancer cases at an early stage. He added that tens of thousands of participants have also been referred to smoking cessation clinics, helping improve recovery rates and protect public health.

The ministry affirmed that the initiative's services remain available and that inquiries can be made through the hotlines 105 and 15335, the official website, www.100millionseha.eg, or the ministry's official social media pages.
