CAIRO - 1 July 2026: A telephone call took place Wednesday, between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, and Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
 
The call addressed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and included an exchange of views on regional issues of common interest.

Minister Abdelatty praised the growing momentum in bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing the commitment to elevating these relations to broader horizons in various fields, particularly economic, investment, and trade, in order to enhance trade exchange and achieve shared interests.
 
The two ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in the negotiations between the United States and Iran.
 
They stressed the importance of building upon the momentum generated by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, paving the way for a more sustainable arrangement that contributes to consolidating de-escalation and enhancing security and stability in the region, while ensuring freedom of navigation in accordance with the rules of international law.
