FM Abdelatty discusses regional developments with Qatari counterpart

CAIRO – 30 June 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone call on Tuesday with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

The call came as part of the ongoing consultations and coordination between the two brotherly countries on regional developments.

The two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in the negotiations between the United States and Iran.

They emphasized the importance of building on the momentum generated by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, paving the way for a more sustainable arrangement that would help consolidate de-escalation and enhance security and stability in the region, while ensuring freedom of navigation in accordance with international law.

They also discussed ways to support the continuation of the negotiations, stressing the importance of sustained regional and international efforts to bridge differences and reach a lasting settlement.
