CAIRO – 29 June 2026: The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation announced that, based on current counts, the total area cultivated with cotton has reached approximately 164,000 acres nationwide. This figure trails the initial seasonal target of 214,000 acres, as reported by agricultural directorates across 16 governorates.

 

The Ministry clarified that the official inventory for the 2026/2027 season is ongoing. Final, verified data regarding total cultivated areas across the country is expected to be released following the conclusion of the count at the end of June.
