CAIRO - 29 June 2026: Egypt is prepared to provide all forms of humanitarian support and disaster relief to Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes that recently struck the country, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said in a Monday diplomatic call.
Abdelatty extended his phone call to Yván Gil Pinto, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, to address the immediate aftermath of the twin seismic disasters.
Abdelatty conveyed the formal condolences of Egypt’s government and citizens to the Venezuelan people, offering deep sympathies to the victims' families alongside wishes for a swift recovery for the injured.
According to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pinto expressed profound appreciation for Cairo's solidarity, highlighting a supportive statement previously issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately following the disaster.
Pinto briefed Abdelatty on the current scale of human casualties and material damage, detailing ongoing emergency mobilization efforts by Venezuelan authorities to stabilize the disaster zones.
