CAIRO - 29 June 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed the latest developments in Lebanon during a phone call with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
The call came as part of ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote stability across the region.
The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast support for the Lebanese state and its brotherly people, stressing the importance of respecting Lebanon's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf said on Monday, June 29, 2026.
He also underscored the need to build on the framework agreement reached under US auspices to ensure Israel's full withdrawal from Lebanese territory, extend the authority of the Lebanese state over all its territory and fully implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 without selectivity.
The Foreign Minister further reiterated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to continue providing all forms of support to Lebanon, including its leadership, government, people and national institutions.
For his part, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri expressed appreciation for the Egyptian leadership, praising Egypt's unwavering support for Lebanon, particularly during times of crisis.
The two sides agreed to maintain coordination and consultations in the coming period.
