CAIRO - 29 June 2026: As part of ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote regional stability, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, held a phone call on Sunday with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast support for the Lebanese state and its brotherly people.
He emphasized the importance of respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and of building on the framework agreement reached under U.S. auspices to secure a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, extend the authority of the Lebanese state across its entire territory, and ensure the full and comprehensive implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 without selectivity.
The Foreign Minister also highlighted the President’s directives to continue providing all forms of support to Lebanon—its leadership, government, and people—and to strengthen its national institutions.
For his part, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri expressed his appreciation to the Egyptian leadership for its steadfast support for Lebanon, particularly during times of crisis. The two sides agreed to continue their coordination and consultations in the coming period.
