CAIRO – 27 June 2026: The Egyptian and Turkish armed forces have launched the joint air exercise "Anatolian Eagle 2026" at an air base in Türkiye, the Egyptian military spokesman said in a statement on Saturday.
The joint exercise, which runs over several days, involves multi-role fighter aircraft from both countries in addition to Azerbaijan, as well as a NATO early warning aircraft.
The exercise began with a series of theoretical briefings aimed at unifying operational concepts and exchanging training expertise among the participating personnel.
The drill will also include a number of joint air sorties designed to enhance the operational capabilities of the participating forces and improve their ability to carry out assigned missions efficiently.
The exercise is being held as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen military cooperation between the Egyptian and Turkish armed forces.
