CAIRO – 20 June 2026: Engineer Iman Nabil, CEO of the National Authority for Regulating Public Road Advertisements, and Dr. Ali Abdel Fattah, CEO of the Electricity Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Authority, held a coordination meeting to discuss regulations and mechanisms for using renewable energy to power advertisements on public roads, as part of the state's broader push toward sustainability and energy efficiency.

The meeting covered several proposals aimed at encouraging advertisers and companies in the advertising sector to adopt clean energy solutions - reducing reliance on traditional energy sources and supporting the country's green transformation, emissions reduction, and resource efficiency goals.

Both sides discussed the need for an integrated regulatory framework setting clear standards for using renewable energy in billboard operations, ensuring efficient, uninterrupted performance while maintaining public safety and a clean, orderly look along major roads.

The two agencies emphasized that expanding clean energy use in the advertising sector marks a key step toward modernizing the public road advertising system, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening sustainability. They also highlighted the importance of close coordination between the relevant authorities to ensure the highest quality standards are met while preserving the visual character of public spaces.
