El-Sisi orders study of possible overseas study missions for top Military Academy-trained imams

CAIRO – 20 June 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday directed authorities to examine potential overseas study opportunities for the top graduates of an imam training program at the Egyptian Military Academy.

During a graduation ceremony for the third cohort of Ministry of Endowments imams at the academy, El-Sisi invited the 10 highest-ranking graduates to the stage to congratulate them on their achievement.

The president also instructed officials to study ways to continue their academic and professional development through advanced studies, including the possibility of sending them on educational missions abroad.

The graduates were part of the program's third intake, named after Imam Hassan Al-Attar.

The event included presentations on the training program and remarks by Minister of Endowments Osama Al-Azhari, who said the initiative aims to prepare a new generation of preachers equipped academically, physically and nationally.
