CAIRO - 18 June 2026: Egypt and seven other Arab and Islamic nations strongly condemned the continuous escalation of Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

The Thursday statement was signed by the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, highlighted recent attacks on the Great Mosque in Jiljilya village and Al-Farouk Mosque in Mazarie al-Noubani village, north of Ramallah.

The ministers stressed that these assaults blatantly violate the sanctity of places of worship, international humanitarian law, and relevant United Nations resolutions.

They held Israel, as the occupying power, fully responsible for these attacks, noting that unilateral and illegal Israeli actions fuel regional instability, violence, and extremism while actively undermining international peace efforts.

The foreign ministers renewed their urgent call for the international community to uphold its legal and moral obligations by forcing Israel to halt its dangerous escalation in the West Bank.

They demanded full accountability for the perpetrators of these crimes to ensure they do not escape punishment.

Reiterating their steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people, the ministers reaffirmed their unwavering support for Palestine's unalienable national rights.

Chief among these is the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In recent days and weeks, settlers have destroyed dozens of mosques in the West Bank, as well as other attacks on schools and infrastructure by both settlers and Israeli forces.
