Health Min. receives Czech Amb. to discuss localizing hospital bed manufacturing

CAIRO - 18 June 2026: Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar,  received Thursday Ivan Gokl, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Egypt, and several representatives from LIINET Healthcare, on the sidelines of the third edition of the Africa Health Conference and Exhibition.

The Minister opened the meeting by welcoming the Czech side and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing the deep-rooted friendly relations between Egypt and the Czech Republic and their long history of fruitful cooperation. He expressed Egypt's welcome of long-term strategic partnerships that support the development and modernization of the healthcare system and expand access to advanced medical technologies.

 

Localizing Hospital Bed Manufacturing

 

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the meeting resulted in an agreement to enhance cooperation with LINET Healthcare in the field of localizing hospital bed manufacturing according to the latest international standards.

 

He noted that the Minister directed that all necessary support be provided to ensure the success of this vital cooperation, which promotes the localization of medical industries in Egypt.

 

For his part, the Czech Ambassador expressed his pleasure and appreciation for the cooperation with the Egyptian healthcare system, praising its efficiency and global competitiveness.

 

The meeting was attended by Major General Amr Ayed, Assistant Minister for Information Systems and Digital Transformation; Dr. Mohamed Fawzy, Advisor to the Minister for Radiology; Dr. Hanady Mohamed, Head of the Medical Professions Development Sector; Dr. Fatima Shoman, Head of the Central Administration for Blood Transfusions; Dr. Hind Ashour, Director General of the General Administration of Pharmacy; and Dr. Suzanne Zanaty, Director General of the Department of External Health Relations.
