CAIRO - 18 June 2026: The Ministry of Health and Population, under the umbrella of the "100 Million Healthy Lives" Presidential Initiative, announced the continuation of providing medical services and comprehensive support within the framework of the President's initiative for the early detection of genetic diseases in newborns, which carries the slogan "Our Future Lies in Our Children's Health."
 
The initiative aims to protect future generations through early intervention and the provision of a comprehensive package of free services for newborns and their families.
 
This contributes to improving quality of life and reducing health complications associated with genetic diseases, reflecting the state's commitment to promoting children's health from the first days of life.
 
The Presidential Initiative includes six essential and free services to ensure comprehensive care for affected newborns and their families:
 
Continuous Monitoring: Providing regular and ongoing care and monitoring of the newborn's health to ensure a rapid response to any health developments.
 
Medical Rehabilitation: Working to rehabilitate the affected newborn medically and help them adapt to the diagnosed genetic disease according to the latest treatment protocols.
 
Psychological Support: Providing comprehensive psychological support to families to help them cope with the challenges associated with their child's health condition.
 
Complication Reduction: Closely monitoring the progression of the disease to minimize the risk of health complications that could affect the child's growth and development.
 
Family Training for Daily Care: Guiding and training parents on safe and effective methods for caring for and interacting with affected children at home.
 
Nutritional Guidance: Training families to prepare specialized meals tailored to the child's health condition and designed to improve their overall well-being.
 
The Ministry of Health and Population emphasized that early detection of genetic diseases is a crucial tool for preventing and protecting children from future complications. It allows for rapid intervention and significantly improves the quality of life for affected newborns.
 
Communication and Support Channels: The Ministry encouraged citizens wishing to inquire about or benefit from the initiative's services to contact the dedicated hotlines 105 and 15335 for information and support, as well as to take advantage of the services available through the Presidential Initiative for Early Detection of Genetic Diseases in Newborns.
 
These efforts are part of the Egyptian state’s strategy to strengthen the preventive healthcare system and provide integrated health services for children and families, contributing to building healthier generations capable of growing and developing properly.
