CAIRO – 17 June 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi participated in a session titled “Ensuring a Safe, Fast, and Effective Deployment of Artificial Intelligence” as part of the G7 Summit proceedings in Évian, France.

Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said that participating leaders and corporate executives emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) has become deeply integrated into various aspects of modern life. They acknowledged that its deployment presents both opportunities and risks, underscoring the need to develop a clear roadmap, as well as legal and regulatory frameworks, for digital transformation and AI in each country.

The participants also stressed the importance of strengthening global coordination and cooperation in this field, affirming the need to take decisive steps toward AI governance and capacity building to keep pace with the sector’s rapid evolution.

During the session, participants highlighted the critical importance of addressing the security, social, ethical, and informational risks posed by AI. They noted that these risks are exacerbated by the current lack of international governance mechanisms for such technologies, which could potentially undermine state sovereignty, limit the benefits of the digital revolution, and widen existing disparities not only among social groups but also between developed and developing countries.

In this context, participants reiterated the need for concerted international efforts and deeper cooperation, including robust public-private partnerships, to mitigate AI-related risks while maximizing the technology’s potential benefits.

President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of strengthening AI governance, noting that while the technology’s development is a natural and ongoing process, humanity remains in the early stages of this field. He also reaffirmed the urgent need to address and prevent the risks associated with AI.
