CAIRO – 17 June 2026: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi returned safely to Egypt following a visit to France, where he participated in the G7 Summit in Evian and held a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event.
The G7 Summit took place over two days, Monday and Tuesday, during which President El-Sisi met with several world leaders, most notably US President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
President El-Sisi also participated in a number of sessions and meetings on the sidelines of the summit, including a session titled “Exiting Crises and Ensuring Stability in the Middle East.” The session was attended by leaders of the G7 member states, as well as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates; Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar; the President of the European Council; and the President of the European Commission.
