CAIRO – 14 June 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will participate in the Group of Seven (G7) summit, which is scheduled to take place in the French city of Evian from June 15 to 17, the Presidency said on Sunday.
El-Sisi will holds bilateral talks with leaders of participating countries on the sidelines of the summit, including US President Donald Trump, the Presidency added.
The planned meeting would be the latest in a series of engagements between El-Sisi and Trump during the US president’s second term.
The two leaders last met on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos in January, months after co-chairing the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace in October 2025, during which they signed a declaration to end the war in Gaza.

Their upcoming meeting comes while Egypt has been throwing weight behind a prospective deal between the United States and Iran to end the Middle East war, while striving to advance the Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
The G7 summit, hosted by this year’s French G7 presidency, will bring together heads of state and government of the group's member states: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US, as well as invited partner countries including Egypt.
El-Sisi’s attendance marks Egypt’s second participation in the G7 summit. Egypt first took part in the gathering in August 2019 in the French city of Biarritz while holding the rotating presidency of the African Union.
Egypt’s invitation to join the summit “underscores its pivotal role in advancing development and stability efforts in the Middle East,” the Presidency said.
Discussions at the summit are set to include promoting global economic growth, addressing geopolitical crises and their impact on trade, energy and supply chains.
The summit will also discuss accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as enhancing international cooperation in the fields of digitalization and artificial intelligence.
Chiefs of the European Council and the European Commission will join the summit, alongside heads of international and regional organizations.
