CAIRO – 11 June 2026: Egypt said it has followed with great satisfaction and appreciation the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the cancellation of military strikes that had been scheduled against Iran.
Egypt expressed its hope that this opportunity would be seized to reach an agreement on the various outstanding issues and create the conditions necessary to end the conflict and usher in a new phase of regional stability. It stressed the importance of resolving remaining regional and international disputes through peaceful means and dialogue, rather than military solutions.
Under the directives of the President of the Republic, Egypt continues its diligent, serious, and sincere efforts, in coordination with regional and international partners, to de-escalate tensions and promote the values of dialogue in preparation for reaching an agreement that addresses the concerns of all parties.
Egypt reiterated the need to take into account the security concerns of countries in the region, particularly the Gulf Arab states, with respect to their security, sovereignty, and non-interference in their internal affairs. Egypt also renewed its condemnation of any actions that target or undermine the security of the Gulf states, emphasizing that their security is closely linked to Egypt’s national security, as well as the security and stability of the wider region and the world.
Egypt further expressed its hope that an end to the conflict with Iran would help refocus international attention on the tragic humanitarian and security situation facing the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and accelerate the implementation of the second phase of President Trump’s peace plan.
