CAIRO – 11 June 2026: U.S. President Donald Trump announced that negotiations with Iran had reached an advanced stage at the highest levels of leadership, prompting him to cancel airstrikes that had been scheduled for Thursday evening.
“Based on the fact that discussions with Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
He added that “discussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others. The naval blockade will remain in full force and effect until this transaction is finalized. The time and place of the signing will be announced shortly.”
