CAIRO - 9 June 2026: Cairo hosted a high-level meeting on June 7, bringing together international mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, alongside representatives from several Palestinian factions. 
 
According to Extra News, the pivotal meeting aimed to push ongoing negotiations forward regarding the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza Strip ceasefire agreement.
 
The high-profile session was attended by Minister Hassan Rashad, Head of Egypt's General Intelligence Service (GIS); Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; and İbrahim Kalın, Head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT).
 
Participants at the meeting expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation for the continuous Egyptian efforts led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. They also commended the intensive endeavors of all regional and international parties to complete the provisions of US President Donald Trump’s plan, in accordance with the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.
 
The meeting witnessed detailed discussions regarding the proposed roadmap to finalize the agreement's implementation. Characterized by a positive and constructive atmosphere, the session concluded with a consensus on the necessity of fully executing President Trump’s plans, specifically all resolutions pertaining to the first phase.
 
The attendees affirmed that all involved parties must uphold their responsibilities to achieve sustainable calm. This serves as a crucial prelude to commencing the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which will ultimately reflect positively on improving living conditions and ending the prolonged suffering of the Palestinian citizens there.
 
The meeting comes as a central part of joint Egyptian-Qatari-Turkish efforts to bridge viewpoints between the Palestinian factions and expedite the transition into the agreement's second phase to ensure a lasting cessation of hostilities.
