CAIRO – 8 June 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call on Monday with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot as part of ongoing consultations between the two friendly countries to exchange views on regional developments and ways to de-escalate tensions in the region.
The call addressed the latest regional developments, with Minister Abdelatty reviewing Egypt’s intensive efforts to contain the escalation in the region.
Abdelatty emphasized Egypt’s support for the negotiation track between the United States and Iran and its commitment to easing tensions and enhancing opportunities for reaching a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
The call also included an assessment of the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
The two ministers agreed to continue close coordination and consultation within the framework of the strategic relations between Egypt and France, joining efforts to reduce escalation and support security and stability in the region.
