CAIRO – 7 June 2026: This morning, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly embarked on an extensive tour to inaugurate and inspect several service and development projects in Alexandria Governorate. The visit come as part of the government’s efforts to bring projects into operation, expedite implementation across governorates, and address challenges facing execution on the ground, thereby ensuring completion within set timelines for the benefit of citizens.

The Prime Minister said that the tour includes the inauguration and inspection of several factories in Alexandria, a significant addition to investment activity in the governorate. He noted that the factories will provide thousands of job opportunities for young people in Alexandria and neighboring governorates. The tour also includes the opening and inspection of multiple service projects, including new roads that will ease traffic congestion across the city.

He added that these projects, along with earlier initiatives, have contributed to a qualitative leap in the services provided to residents, in line with the state’s broader goal of improving quality of life across all sectors.

Attia added that the governorate has implemented a range of road projects over the past decade, with investments in the main and national road network covering 17 projects with a total length of 200 kilometers. Major infrastructure works have also been carried out in sanitation, drinking water, electricity, and public lighting, alongside an integrated stormwater management strategy for Alexandria.

In the education sector, land has been allocated to the General Authority for Educational Buildings to construct 275 new schools at a cost of LE 1.9 billion, as part of efforts to address existing capacity challenges.
