Health Ministry: 30,103 medical services provided via Egyptian Hajj mission

CAIRO - 6 June 2026: Egyptian Ministry of Health announced it provided 30,103 medical services through the clinics of the Egyptian Hajj Medical Mission in Holy lands of Saudi Arabia. 

The medical services were provided as of the arrival of the first group until Friday evening, June 5.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, confirmed that the overall health of all Egyptian pilgrims is stable and good, and that no outbreaks or spread of infectious diseases have been detected among them. 

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar added that the Egyptian medical mission teams are working around the clock to provide the best preventive and curative services, ensuring the safety and comfort of the Egyptian pilgrims. 

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, the head of the Egyptian Hajj Medical Mission, explained that the total number of services provided on Friday reached 593 medical services in the clinics of Mecca and Medina.

Regarding cases receiving specialized care in Saudi hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa reported that the total number of currently hospitalized cases is 36, including 31 cases in Mecca (9 in inpatient wards, 7 in intermediate care, 14 in intensive care, and 1 in the neonatal unit) and 5 cases in Medina (3 in intensive care and 2 inpatient wards).

Dr. Ahmed Mustafa expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding and prompt medical care, and the professional support provided by Saudi hospitals to Egyptian pilgrims, which contributes to the improvement of their health and their rapid recovery.

The Ministry of Health and Population affirms its continued monitoring of Egyptian pilgrims in their accommodations, along with ongoing and full coordination with Saudi health authorities, to ensure the good health and complete safety of all pilgrims during the Hajj pilgrimage.
