CAIRO - 2 June 2026: The 206th humanitarian aid convoy departed on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from Rafah border crossing en route to the Karam Abu Salem crossing, in preparation for the delivery of assistance into the Gaza Strip.

The convoy is part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting more than two million Palestinians in the enclave.

A source at the Egyptian Red Crescent said, in a statement, that the convoy is carrying substantial quantities of humanitarian and relief supplies, including food aid, flour, freshly baked bread, legumes, canned goods, medicines, personal hygiene products, tents, clothing and fuel supplies.

The source added that since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, a total of 46,000 aid trucks entered the enclave, delivering more than 990,000 tons of humanitarian and relief assistance. The shipments also included ambulances and fuel trucks.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, dozens of trucks loaded with food and humanitarian supplies for civilians affected by the Israeli military campaign in Gaza were lined up in the external yard of the Rafah crossing before proceeding to the Karam Salem crossing via Rafah border terminal.
