CAIRO – 29 May 2026: The 114th session of the International Labour Conference will commence in Geneva, Switzerland, on June 1 and continue through June 12, 2026.
The conference will bring together delegations representing the three social partners — governments, employers, and workers — from the 187 member states of the International Labour Organization (ILO) to discuss strategic issues shaping the future of the global labor market.
Two major topics will top the agenda of this session. The first is “Decent Work in the Digital Economy,” through which the conference aims to finalize the adoption of the first international legal instrument regulating workers’ rights across digital applications and online platforms.
The second topic focuses on keeping pace with technological developments. Participants will discuss the Director-General’s report, titled “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Decent Work,” with the aim of establishing frameworks that ensure the protection of fundamental workers’ rights amid the growing dominance of intelligent systems.
The conference agenda also includes a standing item on assessing the situation of workers in the occupied Arab territories, as well as a general discussion on advancing the transformative agenda for gender equality in the world of work.
In addition, the conference will address social dialogue, measures to combat child labor, and the review of certain outdated labor agreements with the aim of modernizing the international normative framework.
Conference sessions will be held at the Palais des Nations and the Geneva International Conference Centre. This session is considered crucial in shaping social protection policies and new labor legislation designed to address current technological and economic challenges.
