Egypt's 'Eid Joy' Campaign continues free transportation between governorates of Gaza

CAIRO - 29 May 2026: For the second consecutive day, the Egyptian Committee continued its “Eid Joy 2” campaign, providing free transportation between the governorates of the Gaza Strip. 

 

Eid Joy translates into "Joy of the Feast", in reference of Eid al-Adha [Feast of Sacrifice] which is currently witnessed. Friday coincides with the third day of Eid. 

 

This humanitarian initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of displaced Palestinians and bring back the festive atmosphere to the streets, despite the difficult conditions in the Strip.

 

The campaign witnessed a large turnout from Gaza residents, transforming the roads into spaces for Palestinian families to meet and travel between governorates, amidst an atmosphere of joy and hope that Gaza residents have lacked in recent months.

 

The Egyptian Committee affirmed that the campaign is a continuation of its humanitarian efforts to support the people of Gaza and contribute to easing the daily burdens they face, especially during the blessed Eid al-Adha holiday.

 

Displaced Palestinians praised the campaign, which restored some of the spirit of Eid by providing free transportation and reuniting Palestinian families, at a time when Gaza is suffering from complex humanitarian and economic conditions.

 

The “Eid Joy 2” campaign carries a message of humanitarian solidarity, affirming the continuation of Egyptian support for the people of Gaza, through field initiatives aimed at bringing joy to the hearts of citizens in Gaza and strengthening their resilience.
