CAIRO - 25 May 2026: Egyptian and British naval forces concluded the joint maritime exercise "Alexandria Defenders" after a multi-day run at the Alexandria Naval Base under the Northern Fleet.

The drills, which aimed to maximize bilateral military capabilities and exchange expertise amid growing defense ties, featured elements from the Egyptian Navy Special Forces and the British Special Operations Forces.

According to a Monday military statement, the training phases included vessel boarding, search and seizure operations, close-quarters combat, and hostage rescue scenarios. Participating units also practiced tactical live-fire exercises, battlefield first aid, and combat medical evacuations, demonstrating high readiness and professionalism.

Senior naval commanders from both countries attended the final stage of the exercise.
