CAIRO - 20 May 2026: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly attended an event on Wednesday organized by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in cooperation with UNICEF Egypt and the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in Egypt to present a comprehensive study on Egypt’s education reform efforts over the past two years.

The event, titled “Envisioning Egypt’s Future in Education: Presenting the Results of Egypt’s Education Reform Study – Evidence, Progress and Future Vision,” was attended by several ministers and officials.

Madbouly said Egypt considers education a matter of national security and a central pillar in building the “New Republic,” stressing that real investment begins with developing human capital and its scientific, intellectual and cultural capacities as the country’s most sustainable asset.

Madbouly said education quality is the key determinant of countries’ ability to achieve sustainable development, enhance competitiveness and build knowledge-based, innovation-driven economies.

He added that education is no longer a basic service but a strategic pillar for the future of nations and a key benchmark of state strength in terms of both the efficiency of education systems and their ability to prepare generations with future skills capable of adapting to rapid changes in technology, the economy and global labor markets.

The prime minister said the event reflects sustained efforts to advance development across one of the most important pillars of human and comprehensive development—education and human capacity building—adding that Egypt places education reform at the top of its national priorities.

He noted that the conference underscores the state’s commitment, alongside its partners, to continue reform efforts and build on achievements to improve the quality of the education system and ensure its long-term impact in preparing future-ready generations capable of driving change.

Madbouly reaffirmed that Egypt is pursuing a comprehensive education development vision aimed at building more innovative generations and enhancing the readiness of Egyptian youth to respond to modern development challenges.
