Minister of Social Solidarity receives Qatari Ambassador to Egypt

CAIRO - 19 May 2026: Minister of Social Solidarity Dr. Maya Morsi, received Ambassador Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Ambassador to Egypt, and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

 

This was the Ambassador's first visit since assuming his post.

 

The Minister of Social Solidarity began the meeting by welcoming the Qatari Ambassador and his delegation, congratulating him on his new position. She emphasized the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, both government and people, and commended the excellent cooperation between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Qatari Ministry of Social Development and Family Affairs, under the signed Memorandum of Understanding.

 

This agreement aims to exchange expertise in the areas of social protection, the empowerment of Arab families, and humanitarian aid.

 

For his part, Ambassador Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani affirmed the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries and their shared desire to strengthen cooperation in the coming period.

 

The meeting explored ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the fields of social and developmental work. Both sides expressed their hope that the coming period would witness strengthened and constructive cooperation on a number of developmental projects related to social welfare and protection.

 

The meeting was attended by Dina El-Sirafy, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for International Cooperation, Relations, and Agreements, and Amira Tag El-Din, Director General of the General Department of Agreements and International Relations at the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
