Xi Jinping diplomatic thought studies unit inaugurated in Cairo

CAIRO - 19 May 2026: Chinese Ambassador to Cairo Liao Liqiang inaugurated the Xi Jinping Diplomatic Thought Studies Unit at the Tahrir Center for Studies and Research on Monday.

The inauguration ceremony, which coincided with the launch of the Arabic edition of the Contemporary World magazine, was attended by Liu Haixing, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Ambassador Liao highlighted that Egyptian-Chinese relations have grown stronger and more diversified over the past 70 years, reaching an unprecedented peak under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and President Xi Jinping.

The event brought together several high-profile figures, including former Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, former Foreign Minister Mohamed Orabi, and Ambassador Ali el-Hefny, Vice President of the Egyptian-Chinese Friendship Association.
