Egypt ‘brilliantly overcame challenges’ under Sisi: Chinese official

CAIRO - 19 May 2026: Egypt has successfully navigated major regional and domestic challenges under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a senior Chinese official said in Cairo.

Liu Haixing, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), made the remarks during a CPC roundtable discussion with representatives of Egyptian political parties on Monday.

Liu noted that the gathering reflects Egypt's openness and willingness to strengthen bilateral relations, adding that ties between Cairo and Beijing are currently experiencing their best period in history under President Sisi and President Xi Jinping.

Leading a CPC delegation to mark the 70th anniversary of Egyptian-Chinese diplomatic relations, Liu congratulated the Egyptian people on their ongoing development and praised the deep historical cooperation between the two nations across all fields.
