CAIRO - 18 May 2026: The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) launched the "Egypt Museum: A Journey Through History" program on its official social media platforms, coinciding with International Museum Day.

This initiative aims to highlight Egypt's rich heritage and cultural treasures, and to rediscover museums whose stories, documents, and rare artifacts may be unknown to many, as they chronicle the nation's history and cultural memory.

The program takes the public on tours of several unique and specialized museums that represent vibrant chapters of Egyptian history in the fields of medicine, art, literature, heritage, and culture.

The tours begin with the Naguib Pasha Mahfouz Museum of Embryology at the Faculty of Medicine, Kasr El Aini, and continue through the National Library and Archives Museum and the Zaafaran Palace at Ain Shams University.

They also include museums dedicated to pioneers of art and heritage, such as the Umm Kulthum Museum, the Prince Mohamed Ali Museum, and the Museum of Islamic Ceramics, in addition to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and the Railway Museum.

The program also features the Egyptian National Museum and the Railway Museum.

The program relies on presenting visual and documentary content that re-presents the museum as a space for storytelling and knowledge, not merely a place to display artifacts.

This program is part of the efforts of the Information and Decision Support Center of the Cabinet to disseminate cultural and intellectual awareness, introduce heritage institutions and specialized museums that represent an integral part of Egypt's soft power, highlight the state's efforts in developing museums, preserving and promoting heritage, and supporting meaningful digital content that connects new generations with their history and civilization.
