CAIRO - 18 May 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty strongly condemned an attack that targeted the vicinity of the UAE Barakah nuclear power plant during a Sunday phone call with his Emirati counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with the UAE, backing all measures taken by Abu Dhabi to protect its national security.
He reiterated Egypt's firm stance that the security of the UAE and Gulf states is an integral part of Egyptian national security.
The call also highlighted the continuously evolving bilateral relations, driven by the close ties between President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with both ministers discussing ongoing efforts to de-escalate recent regional tensions.
