CAIRO – 14 May 2026: Egypt continues to provide humanitarian support to Africa as part of its developmental and humanitarian role toward its fellow African nations.
The Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development sent a shipment of medical and food aid to Madagascar to support those affected by Cyclone Gezani, which caused widespread destruction and severe damage in several Malagasy cities.
The aid shipment includes a range of medical supplies, along with essential food items, to support relief and humanitarian response efforts in the affected areas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Office for Risk and Disaster Management in Madagascar received the aid upon its arrival, in the presence of representatives from the Egyptian Embassy in Madagascar. Officials expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s support during these challenging circumstances.
This initiative reflects Egypt’s active role in supporting its African partners and underscores the country’s longstanding commitment to the continent, as well as its commitment to strengthening joint cooperation in addressing challenges arising from crises and natural disasters.
