RABAT – 14 May 2026: Search and rescue personnel recovered the body of a second US service member who went missing near a cliff in Morocco during a joint military exercise.

The remains of 19-year-old US servicewoman Mariyah Collington were recovered on Wednesday, according to a US army announcement.

The body of the second soldier, 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., was recovered earlier this week.

The two service members were participating in African Lion, the US Africa Command’s largest annual joint exercise, involving thousands of participants from the US, NATO allies and African partner nations.

The search operation involved more than 1,000 US and Moroccan military and civilian personnel, according to the US army.
