Galala University student dies after jumping from third floor during exams

CAIRO - 13 May 2026: A fourth-year Basic Sciences student has died after jumping from a third-floor window during practical exams at Galala University, the school administration confirmed.

In a Wednesday statement, the university said eyewitnesses saw the student, identified as K.A., suddenly open a window opposite the examination hall and throw himself out.

The university's medical team provided immediate first aid before an ambulance transferred him to the Suez Medical Complex, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

University President Mohamed El-Shinawi stated that the administration acted with "maximum speed and responsibility," adding that student safety remains the institution's top priority.

The university expressed condolences to the student's family and pledged full support during the ongoing investigation.

El-Shinawi urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified information on social media out of respect for the family's privacy while authorities conclude their report.
