CAIRO – 11 May 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived on Monday in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, to participate in the Africa forward 2026 Summit.
Upon his arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the President was received by Aden Duale, Kenyan Minister of Health; Severine Loyali, Chief of Protocol of Kenya; Hatem Yousry, Ambassador of Egypt to Kenya; and members of the Egyptian Embassy in Nairobi.
Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, the official spokesman for the Presidency, stated that the guard of honor lined up to greet the President upon his arrival, and that the President also signed the visitors' book at the presidential lounge at the airport.
Previaously, the spokesperson stated that the summit, held under the theme "Africa Forward," aims to strengthen the Franco-African partnership by focusing on the challenges of economic growth, digital transformation, energy, and reform of the international financial system, as well as integrating African priorities within global economic frameworks.
The summit is witnessing broad participation from African leaders, the French President, the UN Secretary-General, and numerous heads of international and regional financial organizations, in addition to representatives from the African and French business sectors.
The President is expected to deliver Egypt's address during the summit and will also hold several bilateral meetings with his fellow African leaders and officials from international organizations on the sidelines of the summit.
